Are you still holding classes during the COVID-19 pandemic?
We are re-opening for public classes on June 13 2020 and our summer 2020 calendar is open for registration. Our staff is diligently following safety protocols and are making sure we do everything we can to have the studio clean, safe for our painters! We are also offering Brush At Home Art Kits you can purchase and pick up in the studio as well. These are listed on our calendar as PAINT AT HOME and are available to purchase every Monday. Masks are now REQUIRED when moving about the studio, but can be removed when seated at your tables to paint "and sip".
Can I bring my own alcohol?
As much as we love a good party our first priority is your safety. We do not allow BYOB as a way to make sure we are safely serving our customers. We have a beautiful bar with lots of yummy drinks available for purchase. Everything from wine, to craft beer, hard seltzers, hard lattes, and champagne, to sodas for the younger brushers.
Do you provide alcohol?
A. Yes! We proudly serve wine, beer, hard seltzer, sangria, hard lattes, canned spirits, soda, and coffee! Prices range from $3 to $26/bottle for our house wine. We do check IDs for every event and you may not bring in your own alcohol. Contact us if you would like our full bar menu.
What is a Brush Studio class like and do you have to be 21 to attend?
In a relaxed social group setting an artist will guide you through replicating the nights featured painting step by step. There is no experience necessary and by the end of the class you will be amazed at the artwork you have created! All of our classes are open to ALL AGES! Come one come all and get artsy with us! We love having painters of all levels join us for any of our classes.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes we do! Please call us at 616-570-0682 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for details! We can email you a certificate, send one in the mail, or you can pick one up during studio hours. It's the perfect creative gift! We are working on having them available on our site, so stay tuned for that! If you have a gift certificate you would like to use, simply email us at email@example.com and we will register you.
How do I sign up and what do I need to do in advance?
We highly suggest that you sign up in advance due to classes selling out. There are three ways to sign up: Register and pay online, over the phone, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you register.
Click on the tab above that says Calendar
and find the date/painting you are interested in. Register online and follow the payment option, or give us a call and we can get you taken care of over the phone or via email.
What is the cost and what is included?
For our regular canvas classes the cost is $25-$35. We provide a 16x20" or 12x24" canvas, paint, brushes, easels and aprons. Our Wooden Sign Workshops are $60 and we are always adding new and exciting events where pricing may be different depending on the class.
Any drinks you would like to purchase are extra and no alcohol is included in your reservation.
How long are the classes?
A. The classes last between 2 and 2 1/2 hours.
A. Although we do provide aprons, we cannot be held responsible for the occasional paint spilled on a new dress! The acrylic paint is sometimes tricky to get out so we recommend leaving your expensive items at home.
A. You are certainly welcome to bring in light snacks for your group. We do not sell any food at the studio. For private events you can have your party catered and we love all of the local restaurants in Downtown Grand Rapids and they will deliver right to us! If you do want to bring in a party platter, let us know so we can plan accordingly.
What time should I get there?
A. We recommend that you arrive about 15 to 20 minutes before class begins. This allows plenty of time to check-in, grab a drink from our bar, and pump your paint. We love our classes to start on time! Downtown Grand Rapids has a lot of events happening so be sure to allow enough time to park and make your way to the studio.
What is your cancellation policy?
A. We ask you to give us 48 hours notice if you need to cancel. Cancellations should be made online or over the phone. This provides us the opportunity to fill the space. We will charge the class fee for reservations not cancelled 48 hours in advance.
When do you launch your classes online?
Our schedules come out about six weeks in advance. Join our email list
at the bottom of our homepage and you will get newsletters and updates sent right to your inbox.
There is a specific painting I want to paint, how often are they repeated?
A. We want to hear from you! If there is a specific painting you missed and have been waiting for please email us at email@example.com and let us know. We will try and get it on the next calendar update. Depending on the popularity of a painting, we typically do not repeat a design within the month. Also, keep an eye on our calendar for Open Paint sessions where you can paint any of our (or your own) fun designs!
If I come with a group or even just a friend can we sit together?
A. Of course! Just make sure you let us know when making your reservation and we will be sure to seat you together. There is a spot on registration that says GROUP NAME - let us know who your friends are and we will seat you together. The more the merrier!
